Company secretaries co-ordinate various functions of the company – finance, legal and personnel and carry on their secretarial duties and responsibilities. The tasks are legal in nature from the formation of a company, to maintaining company’s records, managing tax returns, ensuring compliance with statutory legislation, arranging company’s meetings etc.

They act as link between the shareholders and management. Company secretaries work as advisers to small companies. In management and administration they are junior secretarial officer or company secretary to financial adviser.
